Qing Madi: Music Saved Me from Depression
Life has a way of throwing us into challenges that test our resilience. For Qing Madi, music became more than just a passion; it was the light that pulled her out of a very dark place. At a point in her life, she struggled deeply with depression. The pressures of trying to make a name for herself in an industry where rejection was constant felt overwhelming. But music—her safe space—helped her find her footing and kept her from losing hope.
She had so many humbling experiences along the way, including countless rejections. For a long time, it felt like no one truly believed in her or her potential. That hurt deeply, but it also taught her an important lesson: not everyone will understand or love what you bring to the table, and that’s okay. Those moments of rejection shaped her into the person she is today—someone resilient and determined to keep pushing forward.
Qing Madi shared in an interview with the Punch, “When I finally broke into the spotlight, I imagine some people who doubted me were surprised. Perhaps they thought my kind of message wasn’t something the world was ready for. But I’ve learned that timing is everything. The right message, at the right time, will find its place. And I’m forever grateful for the people who believed in me from the beginning, choosing to walk this journey with me. Their faith in me has been one of my biggest sources of strength”
One of the most humbling experiences she had recently is meeting artists she idolized for years and seeing them recognize and appreciate her work. In those moments, she’s reminded that she is doing something right—that she walking in her purpose.
“Through it all, one thing remains constant: God. Without Him, none of this would have been possible. Every milestone, every victory, and even every setback has been part of His plan to mold me into the person I am becoming. I truly believe He has been my anchor, and His blessings continue to guide me. Music saved me, but God made it possible. For that, I am forever grateful.”
